Hello From Colorado’s High Country
Trophy Mountain Community is situated at the base of the Sierra Madre Mountain
Range of North-Central Colorado. The area contains some of the most
spectacular scenery in the Rocky Mountains. It is well known as some of
the very best elk and deer hunting in all of Colorado. Game are often spotted
crossing and fleeing the small parks, meadows and stands of aspen and timber.
The approximately 1,962 acre community is comprised of 1,322 deeded acres and
640 state leased acres (with exclusive recreational rights) in one contiguous
block just 4 miles from
the North Platte River Wilderness.The area is rich with scenic beauty and
endless recreational opportunities as well as interesting history. The valley
provides a unique mixture of working ranches and panoramic views of the
surrounding mountains and the Platte valley. The ranch itself contains
picturesque scenes of aspen woodlands, dense forests, grasslands and meadows
rich with native grasses and wildflowers. Three Mile Creek and Spring Creek
meander through the property for approximately 4 miles creating several
beaver ponds and reservoirs. Three Mile Reservoir is situated entirely on
the ranch and has been stocked with rainbow trout. The North Platte River
just five miles down stream provides blue ribbon trout fishing. North Park
is famous for its alpine lakes and water recreation opportunities, many of
which are within 20 miles of Trophy Mountain Community.
Trophy Mountain Community is located on the northern end of
Jackson County near the
Colorado/Wyoming border. It is approximately 15 miles to Cowdrey (the nearest
post office), 22 miles to Walden (the County seat), 90 miles to Steamboat
Springs, and 120 miles to Fort Collins. From Colorado State Highway 125 travel
approximately 2 miles to the end of County Road #4 to enter the ranch. There is
no public access through the property, however, community members may access the
forest properties via jeep trails leading off the ranch property. Elevations on
the ranch range from 8,000’ to over 9,000’. The Jackson County
airport, with its 6,000’ paved runway is just 20 miles away. There is also
a 5,000’ x 50’ grass air strip on the Community property for
members’ use.
