Wild Hunts

TMR is pleased to announce that we have expanded our offerings of off-ranch hunts to include deer, elk and lion. The hunts are conducted on thousands of acres of private land along with access to public lands. You can expect to spend a lot of time scouting from your vehicle, as you will be covering large areas. Prior to the hunt, you will be toured and shown boundaries as well as hot areas where you can expect to find game. However, the hunt itself is self-guided. When the hunt begins you will be given access to these private lands and guide yourself. (We are not licensed to guide off the ranch). Seasons are divided in half and are usually 5 days per hunt. Full season hunts can be arranged at an additional price. You will be staying in Trophy Mountain Lodge on the ranch where breakfast, a sack lunch, and dinner will be provided. Hunters agree to abide by all state laws, rules and seasons, usually from late October to mid November. See booking information for available dates. There is no guarantee given or implied that an animal will be harvested during these hunts.

Deer: Deer licenses are on a draw basis and may take up to 3 years to obtain. We have a limited number of private land owner tags each year. Dates, seasons and quantities are not known until July. These tags are spoken for years in advance so you must get on the waiting list early. Success on the deer hunts is averaging 60% with an average score of 170 BC. Bucks are seen each year that would score over 200 BC.

Elk: Elk tags can be purchased over the counter, and must be purchased before the hunt date begins.

Lion: Lion Hunts are limited to the quotas available. New quotas are announced January 1 of each year for Colorado. You must book early and plan on a January hunt. Typically when the lion is located, you will be notified and need to arrive at the ranch as soon as possible. This hunt can be very physically demanding. You will be walking in deep snow or on snow machines. Average male lion will probably exceed 160 lbs. and 7' long. Some have been taken over 200 lbs in this area.
